JEE Advanced topper Ujjawal Kesari did not want to go to IIT. He opted for IISc for his studies. But what is the reason for this?
Ujjawal Kesari Jee-Advanced Rank
Ujjawal Kesari got AIR 5 in JEE advanced. It is a dream for other students to get admission to IITs after cracking the JEE advanced examination with such a good score. But Ujjawal doesn’t want IIT because his dream is to do further studies in the research field through IISc Bangalore. His favorite subject is Physics, and he wants to do research in this subject.
He got a 324/360 score in the JEE Advanced examination. He said: “I knew that I would get a good rank but never thought of 5th rank”. He also said that he gave only a January session attempt and got AIR 33.
Ujjawal Kesari Background & Studies
He lives in Lajpat Nagar. His father is a consultant, and his mother is a housewife. His elder sister is a researcher. He said that he has an interest in the JEE advanced entrance examination from class 10th. But he took it seriously from class 11th & 12th. Also, because of the preparation, he did not go to school regularly and went there only for 2-3 days for practicals. So that his attendance did not become short.
He was a VMC’s 3-year classroom course student. He took coaching for 3 years and got 3 classes in a week. And the rest of the days, he did self-study. On top of that, he studied 10-12 hours a day, but it was not a burden for him. He enjoyed their studies.
How does Ujjawal Kesari maintain a balance between boards and JEE preparation?
He said that it was a challenge for him to prepare for boards and JEE advanced hand in hand. But it would never be tough for him. As a reason for that, he said: “If you make a proper schedule and understand all the concepts. So, it will never be tough.”
He regularly went to school in class 10 and did focused studies. And then gradually put his focus on JEE preparation. He advised students to go to school for maintaining minimum attendance because school study is not enough for JEE preparation. Meanwhile, he also said that the school and coaching environment also play a crucial role. Because in a good learning environment, students can discuss topics with their seniors and batchmates.
The role of meditation in relaxing the mind
Ujjawal Kesari mediated between their studies to calm and relax his mind. He said that you can enjoy your studies but in the end entrance is a big competition. So, this pressure did not overburden him; he did 10-15 minutes of meditation for 2 years. It cooled his mind.
He said: “I heard about it from people. I tried, and it seemed effective. I also shared my thoughts with my family. What I learned, what goes wrong today, what goes special, or what I’m not understanding. It provides emotional support, which is very important.”
So, this is the story of our toppr Ujjawal Kesari. We hope you also get the encouragement and motivation from his dedication. And do your best!
